Chelsea Football Club will play AFC Ajax at Stamford Bridge tonight, hoping to secure a place in the Champions League knockout stages.

The team has had a rocky start to the group stages after they were defeated by Valencia on home ground.

This follows the club’s slow start to the season, suffering two draws and three defeats at home and a loss against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.

But victories at Lille and Ajax have put them at the top of the table with six points.

The Blues were also given a confidence boost on Monday when N’Golo Kante was declared fit to play in this evening’s match.

Kante has been out of action due to  groin injury, but Lampard has now confirmed the defensive midfielder is ready to play again.

Lampard said: “N’Golo is huge for us. He is one of the best midfielders in the world and has been for a few seasons, so I won’t complain about the nice problem I have with him fit.”

The match will be shown live on BT Sport.
